Job Description:

SUMMARY

Designs, builds, and maintains full stack React web applications for ICE's Rapid Analytics Platform (RAP), a cloud-based data and analytics platform. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for programming, implementing, and testing approved UI design. Our Software Engineers develop applications in an Agile SDLC.

LOCATION

Hybrid work from either of the below office locations is required with flexibility to have Mondays and Fridays remote:

Preferred Location: Jacksonville, FL

Secondary Location: Atlanta, GA

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides full stack web design and development of projects involving application development, migrations, and additions to existing applications
• Develops front end applications utilizing React and Redux in close accord with a UX team and ensures the responsiveness of those applications
• Designs and develops APIs necessary to affect front end functionality and/or be consumed by other partners
• Designs and creates data models for applications and databases to persist them
• Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements
• Writes technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
• Develops and/or reviews development of test protocols for testing application before user acceptance with an emphasis on automated Unit Tests, Component Tests, and Scenario Tests
• Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
• May mentor or guide work of less experienced software development staff
• Remains current on industry standards in web development
• Performs additional related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
• Requires 4+ years of software engineering work experience
• Strong UI development experience with JavaScript and CSS
• Experience with modern React principles
• Experience with React tools including React.JS and Redux
• Experience with UI testing, including Jest, Selenium, and React Test

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 6-8+ years of software engineering work experience strongly preferred
• Experience with the React/Redux stack, including functional based components and Redux Sagas
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, EBS, EMR) or equivalent strongly preferred
• Experience with Python programming
• Experience with Jupyter platform
• Experience with Linux OS
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience with RESTful service development and working with microservices applications
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Familiarity with source code management tools such as Azure DevOps, TFS, Jira or Git
• Proficiency with development technique such as Test Driven Development, Unit Tests, Component Tests and/or Scenario Tests
• Familiarity working in a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) leveraging Agile principles
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Any cloud certification a plus (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCP)
