Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer II

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Summary of Position:

Alcon is looking to hire a Sr. Software Engineer II to join our Scientific Computation and Instrumentation team in Fort Worth, TX. You will be responsible for developing software for use in operating/controlling computer hardware, which provides a platform for running end user applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing software used to control devices used to measure and inspect IOLs
• Implementing test methods developed by Optics COE
• Developing software that may be used on systems that are used in manufacturing environments
• Developing Web applications that are used by Doctors to determine the IOL Model/Power required to best meet patients' needs
• Design Data Base schemas that will be used to collect data from R&D and Manufacturing Instruments and measurement devices.
• Develop software used to collect measurement and inspection data from R&D and Manufacturing Instruments and measurement devices and analyze that data

Key Requirements/Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 years; Assoc.+6 years; M.S.+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 2 Years of Relevant Experience
• Work hours: 40 hours
• Travel Requirements: Up to 20% travel

Preferred Qualifications/skills Experience:

• Experience developing web applications using web forms, and MVC ASP.net
• Experience developing with C#, WPF and .net frame work
• Experience with MVVM software design
• Experience developing with C++ including MFC
• Experience developing image processing and signal processing algorithms
• Experience developing Image Processing Software using OpenCV or similar Library
• Experience developing SQL applications including using entity frameworks
• Experience developing motion control algorithms
• Experience using TFS for software version control
