Senior Software Engineer, Internal Tools

The Senior Software Engineer in the Sales Support domain will help build out our vision through the development of dashboard tools used by our staff. These dashboards help our teams (finance, legal, customer support, etc) with their day to day workflows. This role requires an eye for detail and user experience. 50% of the time is dedicated to building and improving dashboards and services. 25% of the time is dedicated to planning, documenting, and working with various stakeholders including product developers across the organization. The last 25% is dedicated to helping more junior developers with technical guidance through pairing and code reviews.

Senior Software Engineer, Internal Tools Responsibilities:

• Build new UI dashboards and support existing ones
• Build unit tests and end to end tests to ensure quality of work
• Integrate with and contribute to various API services
• Provide suggestions on roadmap priorities and improvements
• Work with stakeholders from across business units to understand and document their challenges
• Estimate internally in the dev pod to develop a timeline the pod is able to commit to
• Own change management, monitoring, alerting, and uptime
• Provide technical and architectural guidance to more junior developers
• Pair program with more juniors developers to help drive projects across the finish line
• Follow technical best practices and standards
• Work with engineering manager to gather metrics as needed
• Maintain a positive and respectful culture

Senior Software Engineer, Internal Tools Qualifications:

• 6+ years of professional experience with frontend development using modern libraries to build user interfaces (No Angular or jQuery)
• 5+ years of professional ReactJS experience
• Senior Software Engineer, Internal Tools 2
• 3+ years of professional experience full stack development (any language)
• 3+ years professional experience working in a team to achieve goals together (no lone ranger / hero type)
• 2+ years experience working with Jira to document and break down development work
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar field
• Clear understanding of the full lifecycle of software development
• Strong eye for detail and the ability to deliver quality development work
• Strong communication and writing skills
• High ability to tolerate the occasional dad joke or pun
• Understanding of event driven systems a plus
