Senior Software Engineer, iOS

The work

• At Glia, the Mobile team is quickly becoming the single most important point of contact between our product and the user.
  You will be working on adding and maintaining the iOS library that is directly used by the final users
• Leading new projects to enhance the capability of our product and bring new features to life
• Bringing our native library to multiplatform framework libraries like Flutter, React Native and Ionic
• Consult clients on issues they might encounter during the implementation of our libraries
  

The team’s setup

Team Mobile is a dynamic cross-functional team that brings together skilled Engineers and product Managers and collaborates closely with backend teams to drive innovation and deliver high-impact solutions.
We have members in Tallinn, Estonia, Ukraine, and Bulgaria, so our processes are optimized for remote collaboration.
We work in the Eastern European time zone (EET/EEST).

• Coding languages: Swift, Dart/Flutter
• Acceptance tests: Appium with Ruby
• Dependency manager: CocoaPods
• Monitoring: DataDog
• CI/CD: Jenkins

Responsibilities

• Planning and leading development projects.
• Design, develop, and maintain advanced iOS libraries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Communicate with clients and support their issue resolution and integration.
• Good understanding of our product and can propose improvements.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Troubleshoot complex software issues.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
• Develop and implement unit and UI tests to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
• Utilize Bitrise and Jenkins for continuous integration and delivery.
• Support and integrate our SDK with external Flutter, React Native, and Ionic libraries.
  

Candidate requirements 

• 5+ years of experience with iOS and Swift
• Experience in SDK development.
• Experience with automated build tools such as Bitrise and Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of modern development principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of continuous integration, deployment, and delivery practices.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with scalability, performance optimization, and code refactoring.
• Experience with UX testing frameworks.
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Appium and Ruby is a plus.
• Knowledge of integrating native libraries with external frameworks like Flutter, React Native, and Ionic.
• Experience in the financial technology sector.
