Focus:

Leads the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging work efforts for customer facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end-user applications.

Organizational Context:

Global Commercial Services Technology is seeking a Engineer to work on Commercial API & Reusable Services team to deliver Commercial Platform Strategy. You'll work with product team & Sr Engineers to develop, test & deliver Technology Products envisioned by the team. You should be familiar with modern software development methodologies, web applications and payments domains as well as be able to dive deep and rapidly iterate on ideas.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Perform technical aspects of software development for assigned applications including design, developing prototypes, and coding assignments
• Function as a leader on an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation)
• Lead code reviews and automated testing
• Debug software components and identify code defects for remediation
• Leads the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments.
• Automate deployments in test or production environments
• Automatically scale applications based on demand projections
• Demonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals
• Influence team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking
• Be a productivity multiplier for your team by analyzing your workflow and contributing to enable the team to be more effective, productive, and demonstrating faster and stronger results.
• Mentor and guide junior team members to success within the team

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years of software development experience
• 3+ years experience with Java, Spring, vert.x, Open source and building RESTful APIs
• 3+ years experience in real time framework, data streaming, like Kafka
• UNIX shell scripting skills
• 3+ years experience in XML, JSON, Web Service technologies, and data structure fundamentals
• 3 + years experience in SQL and PL/SQL ; Skilled at optimizing SQL statements ; PL/SQL skills including, query building and query performance tuning
• 3+ years experience with DevOps tools, automating engineering and operational tasks
• 3+ years experience with logical and physical data modeling (relational, dimensional data modeling)
• 3+ years experience monitoring, instrumentation, observability tools and concepts
• 3+ years experience providing technical recommendations to improve efficiency of Data Management /Process Optimization
• 3+ years experience with data query optimization & performance tuning skills. Experience analyzing and resolving performance issues within a variety of operational environments
• 3+ years create/ maintain database objects such as tables, views, indexes, constraints, and SQL code, and stored procedures and shell scripts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with design and coding across one or more platforms and languages as appropriate
• Knowledge in objected oriented analysis and design across a variety of platforms
• Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and testing
• Experience with a broad range of software languages and Financial business domain knowledge.
