Senior Software Engineer - Java

You will report to the Product Engineering Team Lead working hybrid-onsite through our NYC office.

We are hiring for the following product team(s):

Conversions: This team is a part of the Growth organization at Squarespace which is responsible for the customer's journey from the moment they land on Squarespace.com to the moment they subscribe to our services. You will work on a team that owns templates and tools which are critical for entrepreneurs to start building their business and brand online. This includes Squarespace Blueprint!!!

You'll Get To…

• Write server-side code, create high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly.
• Lead the development of new features and build backend services with Java.
• Collaborate with other engineers and designers to provide intuitive customer-focused experiences.
• Ensure the reliability of systems essential to Squarespace users and businesses powered by Squarespace.
• Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g. automated testing, code reviews, and writing beautiful, readable code).

Who We're Looking For

• 7+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another Object-oriented language. Experience developing large-scale software.
• A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices.
• A sincere commitment to creating readable code and an understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability.
• A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $128,500 - $231,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
