Senior Software Engineer - Marketing Technology

Everyday millions of Airbnb customers are reached via our streamlined platform over comprehensive channels such as Email Push SMS and external Ads Platforms (e.g. Google Facebook etc). We deliver substantial business impact by enabling numerous stakeholders across the company including Marketing (Brand and Performance) Guest/Host Policy and more.

The Difference You Will Make:

We are looking for seasoned senior software engineers across multiple pillars of our organization to build this best-in-class platform. Areas of impact may include:

• Leading efforts to build a scalable marketing platform that enables delivering personalized content to Airbnb users on-site (eg. Landing Pages) and off-site such as email and push notification.

• Designing the systems implementing the solutions and operating the platform with comprehensive testing and monitoring.

• Working with Performance Marketing to drive growth for Airbnb from Google Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Affiliates Marketing (Metasearch Influencer) measuring the performance for Brand Marketing on Facebook providing analytic reports for Email performance etc.

A Typical Day:

• Develop custom solutions to integrate with external Ads Platforms (e.g. Google Facebook Trivago ImpactRadius etc) via API

• Design and implement privacy centric marketing event tracking solutions to support business operations

• Automate production pipelines and integrate with upstream/downstream data sources E2E

• Build backend services for various internal tools (e.g. Analytics Hub Dimension Manager Ads Connect etc)

• Build scalable platform for offsite and in-product content configuration hydration and rendering.

• Work with cross functional partners including product managers designers and marketing managers to design and deliver a scalable content platform

Your Expertise:

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree preferably in CS or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of industry experience in a fast paced tech environment

• Working experience in distributed systems (Java)

• Working experience in Big Data (Hive/Presto/Spark) Python and SQL

• Design experience in scalable API and reliable production systems

• Experience building new scalable reliable company-wide platforms leveraging existing core functionalities.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed to with your manager.
