Role Summary

Come join a fast paced, Agile team delivering the next generation of high-tech, modeling and simulation software. AGI develops commercial-off-the-shelf mission modeling software for the aerospace & defense industries. Our products can be used from concept design through operations, and have been used on over 100 space missions, including most recently, NASA's DART asteroid impact mission.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Create innovative solutions for the STK Behavior Execution Engine, delivering bleeding-edge, model-based systems engineering capabilities to the systems engineering community

• Work within a fast-paced, deeply collaborative team

• Implement solutions that demonstrate a strong commitment to product usability
• Conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment
• Write testable, readable, scalable, clean, secure, and efficient code
• Take concepts from initial requirements gathering through design, implementation, test, deployment, and maintenance in a production environment
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, collaborating with the QA team to address the issues
• Collaborate closely with team members on technical details in design and code reviews
• Propose and implement novel solutions; think "outside the box" and communicate your ideas

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• BS in Computer Science, or related field with 5 years' experience, MS with 3 years' experience, or PhD with 1-year experience

• >2 years of Java commercial software development
• Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented design, functional programming, data structures, and algorithms
• Solid understanding of unit testing, and familiarity with frameworks such as JUnit and NUnit
• Experience in building and maintaining high performance applications
• Experience with source code versioning tools (e.g., Git, Perforce)
• Ability to quickly learn complex systems and new technologies
• Ability to work closely with others; willingness to give and receive constructive feedback
• Keen sense of urgency and accountability; ability to complete high-quality work on time
• Passion and drive for technical excellence and high performance
• Customer service aptitude

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Kotlin, Gradle, C#, Python
• Experience using a Java IDE such as IntelliJ or Eclipse
• Experience building and maintaining multi-threaded applications
