Senior Software Engineer - ML Platform (Remote)

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Machine Learning Platform Team at CH Robinson, you will support our data science teams in upstream R&D projects, as well as building out a platform that directly supports & enables hundreds of millions of dollars of business. You will be joining a growing data science team and will have the unique opportunity to help shape the future.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with product managers and principal software engineers to translate requirements into detailed designs
• Proactively troubleshoot applications and identify performance and availability issues providing effective options for resolution
• Tune performance and resolve availability issues of product or service and its dependencies
• Increase code quality through writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests
• Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, machine learning and data scientists on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process enhancements
• Collaborates with ancillary teams such as DevOps and Infrastructure, do deliver performant, scalable, and reliable solutions to production

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience collaborating in a team environment shipping software
• Expertise in creating and maintaining SDKs, libraries, or other software that engineers use
• Familiarity of machine learning development lifecycles
• Proficient creating applications and features in an object-oriented environment (C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript, Python)
• Proficiency developing containerized applications (especially docker)
• Working experience with database objects in relational database (i.e., Postgres) and non-relational database (i.e., MongoDB)
• Experience with continuous integration systems (i.e., Jenkins, Travis, CircleCI)
• Proficient with version control systems (i.e., Git, GitHub, TFS, etc.)
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and a high school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency developing and deploying applications on Kubernetes
• Proficient creating applications and features in object-oriented and functional environments using Python
• Expertise with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
