Senior Software Engineer- Networking and HPC

Lightmatter builds processors and network fabrics for artificial intelligence computing. In this role, you will define and implement the foundation of the systems software stack for our photonic interconnect. You will work with hardware and architecture teams to co-design protocols for low-latency and high-bandwidth data transfers. You will also work closely with adjacent software teams to build libraries of communication primitives for Machine Learning.

Responsibilities

• Define the SW architecture for Lightmatter's products based on the Passage Interconnect.
• Define the requirements for Data Link, Network and Transport Layers for Optical Interconnect products.
• Design and Implement control and telemetry APIs for Passage based systems.

*We are open to hiring a candidate in the Boston, MA or Mountain View, CA areas for this role.

Requirements

Must Have

• BS +12 years of experience, or MS +8 years of experience, or PhD +5 years of experience
• In-depth understanding of the OSI model and network architecture and experience in the implementation of one or more data-link/network/transport layer instances
• Working knowledge of C, C++, Python
• Implementation experience with high performance networking libraries and/or languages (MPI, NCCL or other collective communications libraries, UCX, Chapel or other PGAS languages, InfiniBand, etc.)

Nice to Have

• Experience with high performance parallel numerical libraries
• GPU programming experience
• Performance tuning and benchmarking experience
