Position Overview
As an important member of Paylocity's Banking Platform/Payments team, the Software Engineer is responsible for creating, enhancing, and supporting common features. You'd work alongside Product Owners, Quality Assurance Engineers, and business stakeholders. This role is actively involved in the complete software development life cycle in an agile environment, including technical design, hands-on coding, unit testing, performance tuning, maintenance, test automation, deploys, and upgrades. The Banking Platform Team owns the backend processes surrounding the collection, authorization, and transmission of money between banking accounts. As a central hub for the financial transactions between banks, we operate with an emphasis on reliability, stability, and scalability. The team is currently composed of motivated engineers that pride themselves on quality, have a strong sense of ownership, a mindset of collaboration, and the flexibility to learn and evolve to meet around a shared vision. Our team also focuses on staying current in technology, driving conceptual thoughts into standard practices.

• Drive development of large-scale distributed backend systems from design to launch
• Operate in a fast-paced CI/CD delivery pipeline

• Be a trusted AWS and Cloud subject matter expert, willing to lead by example
• Collaborate with stakeholders to influence and translate business value into technical designs
• Uphold the bar for service-level objectives
• Be a mentor and a coach for junior members of the team
• Provide input to standards and prescribed design patterns for the organization

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, technology related field or equivalent experience
• Must have at least 5-6+ years' hands-on experience with full-stack development, with experience in Client Side Programming (HTML, .NET, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX and SQL)
• Must be proficient in object-oriented design and development and unit-testing, Web Services, and web pages preferably in ASP.NET and/or ASP.NET MVC with C#
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Should be familiar with Systems Architecture and developer tools
• Must be able to work effectively in an agile environment
• Must be effective and creative in problem solving
• Proficiency mentoring other engineers
• Experience working with product teams

The pay range for this position is $85,587 - $182,372/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
