Momence is a next-gen booking and communications platform for experience-based businesses, such as a yoga & pilates studios, gyms, dance schools, salons & spas, golf facilities, swim schools, etc. We help over 1,500 businesses with scheduling & payments, communication, and automation of their business backend. We also have a customer-facing Momence app, where tens of thousands of customers book their wellness experiences every month. At Momence, we are bringing modern-day software into the experience economy, a growing part of the economy that is currently highly underserved by modern software.

About the team

Payments engineering is tasked with building the technical underpinnings that allow our users to put revenue on the books as well as pay their employees and vendors. Momence allows small business owners to take control over how they operate and the ability to accept and move money is a critical piece of our platform strategy. Powering payment integrations that are safe, scaleable, and work reliably for a global customer base helps ensure that our users' customers have a memorable experience from start to finish. Whether it be a web or in person transaction, businesses that use Momence rely on us to ensure their work is compensated.

What will you do?

Design and build the engine that will power payments across our platform. You can expect to play a critical role in an early stage team, having an impact on the way that we scale not only our product, but our engineering culture. You will:

• Develop and maintain payment APIs
• Deliver features that make it easy for users to accept payments, securely
• Set a standard for best practices in tooling, documentation, and engineering processes
• Work closely with engineering and product leadership to strategize and execute on an ambitious roadmap.

Preferred experience

• 5+ Years of software engineering experience, touching vertical SaaS or Payments
• Experience in common payment integrations, especially Stripe
• Expertise in React, Typescript, and Node.JS
• You’ve built products that scale, and have opinions on how to do so 
• BS, MS, or Ph.D in Computer Science or a related field
