Senior Software Engineer, Rust

This is a full time role and can be based remotely anywhere in Italy. Standard AI is a fully remote company. We want our employees to have the flexibility to create work habits, locations, and schedules that best fit their lives.

What you'll do here:

• Develop high-performance software systems to efficiently process data from various sources and deliver outputs with minimal latency.
• Collaborate with machine learning teams to design, develop, debug, and support our service ecosystem, ensuring seamless delivery of model results to our production systems.
• Partner with cloud platform teams to design, develop, debug, and maintain our scalable data platform and its internal services.
• Promote and uphold our culture of engineering excellence, serving as the go-to expert for Rust and software performance optimization.
• Work with our tech stack, including Rust, GCP/GCS, Docker/Kubernetes, and OpenTelemetry/Grafana.

What you’ve done before:

• You’ve developed great coding skills and are proficient in Rust development.
• Worked on projects where software performance was a key factor for success, and you have optimized the code and systems for maximizing efficiency.
• You are Comfortable with cloud environments, containerization frameworks, and continuous integration platforms.
• Preferred but not required if you are familiar with:
• Streams of data
• 3D geometric problems
• Tracking problems
• You have demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including fluency in English.
