The Enterprise Service Management team, as a part of the Corporate Functions & Converse Tech organization, brings together technology and process expertise to create customer value for the consumer. This role will be reporting directly to the Director of Platform Engineering for the Nike ServiceNow instance.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As our Senior SW Engineer in the ServiceNow space, your primary focus will be to solve complex problems without direction. You will lead, design, develop, and as needed, play a platform architecture role for technical solutions that have a significant strategic, long-term impact on the business to achieve a competitive advantage for the company.

You'll also play a key role in and be accountable for

- Establishing and communicating a strategic vision for multiple systems and solution areas, helping colleagues translate that vision into sprints and plans for the team(s).

- Designing solutions with performance in mind across multiple products and domains, integrating with adjacent solutions/technologies!

- Being up to date on and providing clarity to upcoming ServiceNow features, tools, and technology!

- Having an "Out of the box" solution attitude when it makes sense, identifying options for and guides/influences customers into considering out-of-the-box options; questioning the need for customization, quantifying any customized solutions applying value propositions.

- Acting as a key technical advisor to programs and project teams working on sophisticated ServiceNow solutions, providing unique insights, new research, and novel approaches that will help guide partner needs!

In this role it is critical that you are able to balance speed, performance, and quality when it comes to providing tactical or strategic solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, a typical day can include, but is not limited to the following tasks with the Nike team responsible for the ServiceNow platform:

- Regularly translating technical language into simple, easy to understand language.

- Providing clarity to changes coming into and traveling out of the local Nike ServiceNow instance or to consumers/products/systems while maintaining the highest level of quality without a degradation of service.

- Conducting in-depth analysis of business problems that typically span multiple organizations, business functions, and technical domains while identifying the interdependencies between platform/systems/products/workflows, assessing risk to develop mitigation strategies in major initiatives.

- Building productive networks internally or externally with collaborators, external technical partners, and vendors

- Telling a consumable story relevant for your audience when solving sophisticated problems (i.e. build v buy) that includes weighted decision-making criteria, impact analysis, options, and providing a recommendation driven by data.

- Conducting root cause analysis of complex problems with the accurate level of impact analysis, providing reasonable options, and a recommended path forward in an easy-to-understand and timely fashion.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This role will work closely with architects, process owners, engineers, and customers to deliver technical solutions via SCRUM methodology that solve problems while supporting the long-term health of the ServiceNow platform.

You will develop credible and strong working relationships with technical and non-technical colleagues and/or the vendor community with multip teams (i.e. business, customers, ServiceNow).

WHAT YOU BRING

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

- 5+ years in an applications development role

- Proven 5 years of experience working in the ServiceNow platform as a Developer, including the implementation, administration, configuration, development and customization of core applications in an enterprise environment

- ServiceNow experience should include scripting in ServiceNow, tool configuration, design work, technical configuration and deployment. Specifically, candidates shall possess in-depth knowledge of the technical implementation and the skills to develop on the ServiceNow platform including the creation and/or customization of the core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Asset Management, New Call, On Call, Workspace, Integration Hub, Flow Designer, Mobile, Portal, Human Resources Service Desk, GRC and Service Catalog

- Experience implementing ITSM best practice processes and procedures in an enterprise environment

- ServiceNow Administrator and Developer Certifications

- Tracking/reporting the quality of internal and external developers using metrics

- Creating or giving to data, platform, and high level architectural solutions that can be consumed by peers, leadership and customers

- Communicating and sharing work with colleagues for mutual review and education (i.e. after action review, root cause analysis, lunch and learn, demos).

Well-qualified candidates must have, and can demonstrate the following in order to be successful:

- Develop and maintain solutions using standard ServiceNow platform functionality, including

- Business rules and client scripts

- UI and data policies

- ACLs

- UI actions and script includes

- Transform maps and workflows

- Form and list configuration with multiple views

- Database views

- Experience with multiple major version upgrades and system patches; ability to plan for and explain the common upgrade issues caused by custom development

- API Integrations and process/test automation across a variety of external platforms or tools

- Able to articulate a detailed understanding of security in the instance; knows when to use client vs server (or both) methods for optimizing user experience while still maintaining system performance and data integrity

- Is able to communicate or influence performance challenges to any customer; applies common trouble shooting techniques, metrics, and benchmarking

- Experience activating and upgrading ServiceNow plugins; know when it is appropriate to use an OOB plugin vs. custom development

- Authoring/maintaining user documentation that is easily understandable and reusable

- Uses analytical skills to investigate issues, find solutions to problems, and improve processes

OTHER PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- Create and maintain a performant Service Portal

- Configure and build Performance Analytics (indicator source, indicator, job, breakdown, widget, dashboard)

- Configure Discovery with OOB configuration

- Configure custom probes and sensors in Discovery

- Configure applications to work in the ServiceNow mobile apps

- Experience crafting Scripted REST API, and knowing when it's appropriate to use an OOB API or integration method

- ITIL certifications at the foundations, intermediate or expert level

- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist

- Providing technical mentoring and guidance, improving the expertise of your colleagues.
