What You Will Be Doing

The Senior Software Engineer will work closely with Customer Support, Product Management, Design and QA and be responsible for the development and support of ChargePoint tools and services. You will be responsible for triaging software escalations and resolve them in timely manner. In addition to resolving issues, you will also work with software development team to develop core backend services, like analytics, content management, data processing etc.

Responsibilities

• Write code for high-quality web-based applications, create robust applications, and develop functional prototypes quickly
• Work closely with product management to define user requirements and translating them into reliable, intuitive features
• Participate in all phases of development, from design to implementation, unit testing, and release
• Evangelize code quality through writing well architected, structured code, unit tests and practicing good engineering hygiene
• Triage production issues and help customer support with debugging field issues
• Refactor, optimize and constantly drive for improved efficiency and code health

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of industry experience
• Strong knowledge in any of the one language – PHP/Java/Python/Golang
• Working knowledge of In-memory database like REDIS
• Firm understanding of IoT architecture and principles
• Comfortable with full-stack projects and able to build a minimum working product quickly
• Exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application
• Good understanding of web concepts such as session, cache, cookies, connection pooling, and so on
• Working knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MySQL)
• Good communication skills across teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with server architectures, web services and distributed systems
• Experience with Cloud infrastructure and principles
• Good experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Working knowledge of asynchronous processing and queuing system like RabbitMQ
• Great engineering skills and strong CS fundamentals
