With all of the potential to change how ecommerce works, we staff “Verticals” teams dedicated to building the best features for buyers and sellers for particular product categories (sports cards, fashion, and more). These teams are small, nimble, and build quickly across our entire product surface.

We're looking for experienced engineers that can ship great work extremely fast. We look for engineers with strong product instincts who can own whole projects from start to finish. Passion for building the best things for our users is a must.

On the Verticals team, you will be digging deep into what is needed to support a particular product category, relying on both qualitative and quantitative signals.

You’ll work extremely closely with our cross-functional partners in go-to-market and ops/support, and often participate in those functions as regularly engage with users on our platform.

You also will be writing code in a number of codebases, thinking in a full stack way, and building things faster than anyone else would think possible. You’ll do this while achieving high quality with your work, and without sacrificing performance, security, or measurability.

As our next Verticals Senior Software Engineer you should have 5+ years of generalist software development experience in high growth startups, plus:

• Mastery of at least one language (we primarily use Python, Elixir, JavaScript, and are open to others) and an expert at data architecture
• Ability to contribute full stack, and build entire end-to-end features yourself
• Excellent product instincts. You first think about users rather than the best technical solution
• You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast. You should be passionate about finding ways to do things much faster than the average engineer would
• You’re an excellent problem solver and don’t need to be told exactly what to do
• Can own projects fully, including leading others in execution
