Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer, Wireless leads all third-party vendor software release tracking for Cox Mobile. This includes daily communication with our software vendors, tracking of software releases within Cox's enterprise tools, coordination in support of the Cox change control process, and stakeholder communications and reporting.
Additionally, this individual is responsible for developing tools and solutions to support our release tracking and software testing processes-leading agile software development when called upon to do so.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  • Daily leadership of all third-party vendor software release tracking for Cox Mobile and other Cox products and services
  • Release management and communication with key technology and business stakeholders
  • Solution development and implementation to enable business processes
  • Product owner for release tracking tools and solutions
  • Provides ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed tools / functionality
  • Actively works with other software engineers, providing guidance and oversight
  • Actively participates in the engineering community, staying up to date on new software technologies and best practices and shares insights with others in the organization

Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years' experience in a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience with software release management and vendor management
  • Project management / agile certifications (PMP, CSM preferred)
  • Expertise with Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles for software development
  • Ability to influence senior technology and business leaders
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Capable of providing leadership, creativity, and decision support relative to information technology used to enable the execution of business processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player with willingness to collaborate
  • Strong analytical and problem solving / decision making skills

Preferred:
  • 5+ years of experience in the cable and telecommunications industry
  • Product ownership experience
