Senior Software Engineering Manager, WAN Insights

In August 2020, Cisco Systems completed the acquisition of ThousandEyes, which now forms the ThousandEyes Business Unit within Cisco’s Network Services Business Group, and is a foundational component of Cisco’s growing Observability business.

The goal of the WAN insights team is to create smart visibility tools that result in predictive and recommendation services to improve NOCs and network engineers. WANi blends data from a wealth of Cisco tools and feeds pipelines resulting in statistical and machine learning models used through ThousandEyes and Cisco’s SDWAN. As a Senior Manager, your team will be responsible for maintaining critical platforms, identity management, databases, UI, APIs and ML models; two main challenges: expanding integrations with the huge ecosystem of Cisco tools and products and ensuring the right information reaches the right user over the right channel at the right time.

• Proven software engineering management experience
• Can provide strong technical vision for your team and ensure consistent delivery on objectives
• Have experience formulating a team's technical strategy and roadmap; you've collaborated and partnered effectively with several other teams to execute on shared goals
• Hands-on experience building enterprise software products, especially those that use distributed system architectures on networking environments
• Have experience building products, and have successfully taken significant enhancements and features from inception to production
• Are a strong proponent of Agile software methodologies, such as Scrum, and engineering principles such as Test Driven Development and do not shy away to run project management when needed
• Understand how to balance tactical needs with strategic growth and quality-based initiatives that can span multiple quarters
• Previous hands-on experience working with technologies similar to those in our development environment e.g. AWS, micro frontends, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes and Kafka.
