Job Scope
The Senior Software Product Manager is a highly collaborative position responsible for executing strategic projects across the software product offering in the Allegion Home business. This position plays a key role in the success of both the Allegion hardware and software vision. Not only do they guide the software experience for Schlage's best-in-class residential smart locks, but this individual will also help explore how to provide a more seamless end-to-end digital experience for our customers through cross-functional collaboration with marketing, designers, other product managers, data science, and more. We are seeking someone with a broad range of Product skills backed by great communication and a collaborative style.

Job Scope
The Senior Software Product Manager is a highly collaborative position responsible for executing strategic projects across the software product offering in the Allegion Home business. What You Will Do:
Business and P&L
- Lead and develop the software product vision and strategy for Allegion Home, aligned with business unit vision and strategy, and based on market needs and cross-functional stakeholder input
- Create and maintain roadmaps that support the product vision & strategy
- Communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to the Engineering team, Marketing, and others in support of successful development
- Lead execution of the product roadmap with support from product owner, development team, designer, and cross-functional partners
- Provide significant input to and influence on the overall product vision and strategy for the Allegion business unit
- Coordinate releases, research, and ongoing work with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, Design, and other key stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineering leadership, product owners, and technical leads to ensure that execution meets the product requirements, strategy, and vision
- Support Product Marketing and the Go-To Market teams with the knowledge and materials they need for successful launches and sales
- Contribute to the development of and ensure the execution of product activities that support Allegion Home business strategies
- Drive profitable project management that supports the user experience with software and physical product.
- Utilize and guide User Experience research to guide development of Best in Class Experience with software and products
- Participation in joint activities with the marketing organization including project planning, brand strategy, customer research and marketing communications.
- Evaluate internal and external financial, technology, channel, and market data in order to expand portfolio roadmaps and input into the Annual Operating Plan and Long-Range Plan.
- Analyzes and compares competitor's software products and services in relation to the organization's current offerings. Competitive benchmarking to establish portfolio positioning and messaging as well as driving incremental improvements.
- Drives change and continuous improvement efforts within Product Management to evolve and improve the function
Software Maintenance, Updates & New Product Development
- Business case development: Collaborate with Project team members to finalize business cases that detail sales forecasts, development investment, and commercialization strategy.
- Expert understanding of customer needs, changing industry requirements, and competitive positioning.
- Identify trends and needs within the market space and evaluate them as potential business opportunities.
- Involved in the product development life cycle from start to finish
- Collaborate with engineering to develop alternate ways to proceed with the development and delivery of new software solutions
- Marry research, market knowledge and internal inputs to build a balanced and impactful new product development portfolio
Strategic Planning
- Evaluate Software and Home electronics portfolio to help determine near term (tactical) and long term (strategic) elements needed in the customer experience
- Lead the development and commercialization of residential software and electronic solutions including IoT connections with major technology partners, latest networking technologies, etc
- Build and own a 5-year product line strategy for Software products
- Coordinate a cohesive Allegion Home Software strategy with other product managers
What You Need to Succeed:
- Required
- 8+ years of experience in Product Management, with at least 4 years in Software Product Management
- Great communication skills, verbal and written - Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively with diverse range of internal and external customers.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly, even to non-technical audiences
- Experience in Agile Scrum development methodology
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, integrate, and execute new solutions within a business
- Strong business and financial acumen (business cases, price positioning, product margin, commercialization strategy, channel management, etc.)
- Proven ability to utilize research in the development and execution of new product development, product improvement and strategic planning
- Ability to travel up to 30% required
- Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Technical field (Software, Electronics, Information Systems, etc).
- Experience with electronic products, manufactured goods, building materials and retail is preferred.
- Experience in the development of IoT software-enabled physical products

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
- The expected Base Salary Range: $91,000 to $169,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
