Senior Software QA Test Engineer

As the Senior Software QA Test Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for software quality assurance (SQA) using a test-driven design approach through development, design, implementation, and execution of functional and system level tests. In addition, you will write defect reports, establish defect metrics, and support release review criteria.

Your day to day:

• Must be comfortable working in tandem with an offshore team
• Write and execute manual test cases from functional requirements
• Web testing experience
• Must be comfortable seeking clarification on requirements
• Must have SQL experience, including querying data

• Experience with end-to-end testing from input files, through system processing, to target tables and finally to output files
• Test case repository and execution tool experience, such as Test Rail
• Defect logging and tracking in JIRA or another defect tracking tool
• Automation experience would be a plus

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree desired

• 5+ years of professional software testing experience including test automation, test planning, test case design, and test methodologies
• SQL Server or Oracle database experience
• Strong 'hands on' experience developing software tests for functional and regression testing that include ad-hoc, and manual testing elements
• Experience in Requirements Analysis
• Excellent understanding of QA methodology - test plans, test cycles, and software releases

• Experience with test case repository and execution tool
• Experience with defect management and tracking tool
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of information technology, including PCs, Servers, Network Protocols, Web Applications, Operating Systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Agile team experience a plus
• Experience with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 Validation requirements is a plus but not required

• Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
• Works well in a multicultural team
• Methodical and meticulous, with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and autonomously, with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to present information and respond to questions with confidence
• Can demonstrate a proactive approach towards work, projects, and initiatives
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks
