Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our growing Mission Solutions team!
You will join our systems engineering team, which assists the government program office in managing the overall technical requirements of the program. Your particular role in this team will be to assist in and then lead the elicitation of user operational and functional requirements, decomposing those requirements into technical requirements which can be allocated against system components, and then work with the component software leads to ensure proper understanding. You will maintain the requirements traceability matrix for the program, to help ensure that every included technical requirement has been appropriately tested prior to any software version releases.
You will work closely with software quality assurance teams, threat system model developers and the user community to help ensure a reliable and stable environment with regular delivery cycles and software patches. Most importantly, you will help ensure those deliveries satisfy the original operational requirements.
This position may at times support a Hybrid work environment depending on specific job responsibilities. However, a fully remote work environment is not possible.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Participate in user conferences and meetings designed to understand those users' operational and functional needs
- Work with the other members of the systems engineering team as well as the software component leads to decompose those operational requirements and translate them into technical objectives for the development team
- Maintain and improve the requirements traceability process to ensure ability to trace requirements through development, test, and release
- Provide reporting to government program office personnel on status of implementation of each user requirement
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- No clearance required to start, but you must be willing and able to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Experience as a software developer on products with regular release cycles
- Demonstrated experience in requirements management
- Good written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire to work with a highly technical team including classified customers
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Active DoD Security Clearance
- A diverse and extensive range of experience in conducting user research (both qualitative and quantitative) throughout your career
- Experience working with an AGILE software development team
- Experience as a change agent
- Experience working with a multitude of engineering disciplines, including systems, software, hardware integration and test
- Current security clearance is a plus

Salary Range:
$81,500.00 - $142,600.00
