Your Role at Baxter

Apply a proven understanding of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria as part of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) toward the development of new or enhanced software products or processes. Plan, complete and functionally direct meaningful engineering assignments, which require independent judgment.

What You'll be doing

• Perform standard engineering assignments which are typically a significant portion of a larger project, adhering to defined methods, techniques, theories, corporate and division Standard Operating Policies.
• Provide technical input and scheduling information to multi-functional teams.
• Select sound techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations under direction of supervisor.
• Perform manual software testing, report defects and document results.
• Build and review manual software test cases/scenarios. Make recommendations for software product and process improvements based on technical knowledge.
• Utilize software engineering methodologies and tools to tackle straightforward problems (e.g., product integration testing, software requirements management, UML and software configuration management).
• Provide technical guidance to technicians.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field
• 3+ years related experience in software testing
• A solid technical understanding of the principles and procedures of software engineering (e.g., SDLC, IEC 62304, CMMI, Agile).
• Experience with software testing of embedded or application software.
• Be passionate about software quality and be prepared to advocate on behalf of good processes and best practices.
• Ability to discuss normally encountered technical or project management issues, both verbally and in written form.
• Ability to work as a collaborative team member.
• Desired: Experience with medical device software test engineering disciplines (e.g., manual testing methods, test management tools software development environments, configuration management tools, code inspection techniques and tools).

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $60,000 to $132,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
