Senior Software Test Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Software Test Engineer is responsible for evaluation, development, and implementation of test protocols and tools, including design documentation. The position will provide Verification expertise to new product introduction of software-controlled medical devices. This engineer is a key member of new product development teams, focused on system software and integration testing for next-generation diagnostic medical devices and systems.

• Work cross-functionally to identify and define system and software requirements
• Analyze System and Software requirements to determine testability, completeness, and consistency
• Perform ripple effect analysis for requirements and design level changes using technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques as they relate to software testing
• Develop test protocols by performing in-depth requirements analysis
• Assess the need to automate tests and develop either automated or manual test scripts
• Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, or new testing requirements.
• Execute automated and manual test protocols following established procedures and capturing appropriate objective evidence
• Report and investigate observations and defects, working with other members of the development team to establish root cause and options for correction
• Provide and manage traceability evidence between requirements, tests, and risk documentation
• Write formal test plans and reports that can be used in submission packages to regulatory agencies
• Follow established standard operating procedures

Required Skills

Minimum:

• Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by ACIST Medical Systems/Bracco Medical Technologies.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Software, Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of similar experience, including software testing and verification experience and/or software development experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders and senior leadership
• Proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science or Advanced level degree in Engineering, Software, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Medical device experience, especially active implantable or Class III devices
• Experience in the Medical Device or other regulated industry and knowledge of FDA QSR
• Demonstrated experience documenting software requirements and writing well defined, thorough test designs
• Experience with automated software test tools and techniques on desktop, mobile and cloud-based systems
