Senior Software/Systems Engineer/Architect

KBR is seeking a Senior Software/Systems Engineer/Architect to support one of our government customers in Reston, VA.

Responsibilities include:

• Work within a team to design, implement, and operate a wide area network of sensors, processing systems, and workstations to solve problems for the US Department of Defense.
• dvise the government in hardware and software selection, oversee the progress of vendors and assist the government in the integration of highly complex processing systems.

Required Experience:

• 10 or more years of experience with Software / Systems design, development, integration, test, and support.
• Knowledge of Linux and Python required.
• Experience with local and wide area network integration with a highly available database back end and high-performance computing clusters.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar major with at least 10 years of directly related experience.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Amazon Web Services.
• Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL database design and development, including database clustering for redundancy.
• Experience with standard modeling approaches such as UML.
• Experience with markup languages, such as XML and JSON.
• Experience with the DoD accreditation process.
