Job Description

Oteemo is seeking a talented Senior Solution Architect to play a pivotal role within our Federal division, driving our business expansion efforts. As a Senior Solution Architect, your role encompasses a range of crucial responsibilities:

• Solution Conceptualization and Development: You will be responsible for ideating, creating, articulating, and proposing innovative solutions that drive our organizational growth and directly impact our top and bottom-line results.
• Client Engagement and Problem Solving: Collaborate with clients, both in long-term strategic planning and tactical problem-solving capacities, to address their critical needs and challenges effectively.
• Client Requirements Definition: Define comprehensive client requirements for solutions, encompassing a wide spectrum of services, products, technologies, and capabilities. This includes areas within both IT and non-IT related engineering and process disciplines.
• Multi-Disciplinary Solution Design: Develop solutions that may require a combination of software, cloud architectures, agile methodologies, cybersecurity considerations, DevSecOps services, and other specialized knowledge tailored to government specifications. Your role includes designing, developing, and supporting these solutions for our clients.
• Technical Solution Documentation: Serve as the primary technical solution writer for Oteemo's Federal division. This involves crafting RFI responses, generating white papers, and contributing to proposal development. You will take the lead in the technical volume of major proposals.
• Business Development Support: Collaborate closely with our business development team to assist in capture efforts that lead to the creation of the proposals mentioned above. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping these efforts.
• Coordination and Mentorship: Work in tandem with other technical experts at Oteemo and our partners, facilitating the collection and coordination of contributions for solutions, RFIs, white papers, or proposals based on their respective areas of expertise or past performance. Additionally, serve as a mentor to engineers looking to enhance their Solution Architect skills.

Your contributions as a Senior Solution Architect will be pivotal in driving our success and ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our clients and the dynamic landscape of the industry.

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 10 years in technology solution development or a related field as a Solution Architect within the federal government contracting domain.
• Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in developing and leading the creation of winning solutions for new business pursuits, re-compete opportunities, capture activities, and proposal efforts, with a focus on contracts exceeding $20 million in Total Contract Value (TCV).
• Technology Mastery: Strong working knowledge and mastery of current technologies and capabilities utilized in the Federal Government space. This includes, but is not limited to, expertise in Cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, Google), DevSecOps practices, various Software Development technologies/methodologies (especially in areas like code refactoring and IT modernization transitioning from waterfall to Agile), and cybersecurity within cloud-native and as-a-service environments. Familiarity with Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning is a plus.
• Client Engagement: Proven experience in engaging with clients at the front-end, including assessing needs based on requirements (SOW, SOO, PWS, and other draft materials). Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills are essential for identifying pain points and understanding key client needs.
• Proposal Expertise: Active involvement in, and leadership as a Solution Architect, in the development of the Technical and/or Management Volume of large-scale proposals, RFIs, and white papers for the Federal Government, employing a Shipley-type proposal approach.
• Team Collaboration: Professional background in operating effectively within cross-functional teams and groups, including technical, development, acquisition, contracts, and program management teams.
• Leadership and Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to be highly collaborative and possess strong interpersonal skills to lead engineers with varying levels of proposal experience.
• Domain Knowledge: Possess domain experience and a solid understanding of the US Air Force or US Navy. Additional experience with a broader spectrum of DoD clients is advantageous.
• Adaptability and Innovation: Exhibit the capability to swiftly acquire knowledge of new technologies, showcase innovation, and develop practical solutions that align with the client's mission.
• Security Clearance: Must hold an Active Secret Clearance. The potential for obtaining a Top Secret clearance in the future may be necessary.
• Location: Must be based in the Washington Metro area. The role entails a hybrid work schedule, with an expectation to work at our Reston, VA office 2-3 days a week. Oteemo values work-life balance but recognizes the value of in-person collaboration for optimal solutioning, capture, and proposal outcomes.
• Travel: Anticipate some travel to conferences and client locations, accounting for less than 20% of your time commitment.
• Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a closely related technical discipline.
