Senior Solutions Architect

Work Location: Remote (CONUS)

Status: Exempt

In this role, you’ll be responsible for helping to design and developing technical solutions leveraging cloud and automation technologies.  The ideal candidate must maintain technical proficiency with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services, scripting languages, and networking skills. Leveraging your experience performing in a client-facing, you will help define and execute on our innovation strategy, as well as advisor to our clients and our client delivery teams in areas of tech strategy, planning, and implementation.  As a senior solution architect, you will also work with our Business Development team to support solutioning and writing for proposal opportunities. 

It is imperative that the Solutions Architect has broad experience within core IT Support areas but is an expert in at least 3 of the following (listed in order of preference): Server and Virtualization O&M; Data center consolidation; Infrastructure Automation; Cloud migration; Information Assurance; IT transformation or modernization; Network architecture; Large-scale Project Management; Cloud Native Computing; Legacy application migration to COTS applications. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all technology components of diverse, moderately complex IT projects, including project planning, execution, timing, and quality
  • Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
  • Communicates with end-users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates.
  • Contributes to formulation of strategies for IT project leadership and other functional areas.
  • Applies in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how areas of IT project leadership collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
  • Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
  • Perform pre-sales engineering activities for federal government clients
  • Provide product demos of software to potential federal government clients
  • Assist client delivery teams with design and development of technical solutions for implementation and deployment based on client requirements
  • Responsible for proposal solutioning and technical writing, as well as responsible for authoring technical white papers.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a hands-on technical capacity
  • 4+ years of experience performing demonstrations of software to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Advanced Azure or AWS certification preferred, but must be able to obtain within 6 months of starting
  • Experience in large enterprise environments
  • Experience with DevOps and/or DevSecOps
  • Working knowledge of DoD or IC Information Assurance processes and standards, including Risk Management Framework, STIGs, or NIST
  • Working knowledge of ITSM, ITIL, and/or TOGAF
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with technical and non-technical audiences, specifically briefing senior decision makers

Preferred:

  • Experience with the DoD or intelligence community
  • Experience with Infrastructure Modernization, such as: Operations & Maintenance of legacy global infrastructure, cloud migration, service delivery modernization, software modernization
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
