Senior Solutions Architect

Checkr is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join Checkr X, our innovation program aimed at finding and bringing to market new product bets for Checkr. This team is specifically thinking about People infrastructure for the future of work, beyond background checks. It’s also designed to operate and iterate quickly like a new startup, while being able to leverage our existing strengths and assets from our core business. We are specifically hiring a Senior Solutions Architect for Checkr Pay - our bet in the payments space. Checkr Pay is a full-service payments platform for the gig economy. Checkr Pay allows gig platforms to pay their workforce instantly, seconds after completing a job - at no cost to the platform or the worker. Our core product is a digital wallet experience, including a free Visa debit card, that is embedded directly in gig platform apps/websites. This product supports a seamless onboarding flow for new workers, improving conversion by as much as 30%. Our embedded instant pay solution is the core platform on which we are building a new financial ecosystem for the gig economy, which moves the needle on financial inclusion for the unbanked and underbanked. The Senior Solutions Architect is a uniquely hybrid position that requires both business and technical knowledge and expertise to to design complex solutions for new customers and optimize Checkr solution for existing customers. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will guide our largest customers to deliver amazing value to their business with our products. Solutions Architects are business and technology champions, demonstrating thought leadership to frame the customer's strategic direction, and orchestrating our customer's team to achieve the desired outcome. You'll be our customer's trusted advisor to accelerate the effectiveness of their teams with Checkr Pay’s solution.

In this role, you'll cut across multiple technical disciplines and customer roles to guide the implementation, integration, and expansion of the customer's stack to include Checkr Pay. You'll also reach into all parts of Checkr to champion the customer use cases and facilitate a deeper level of engagement with the customer. You’ll serve as the tip of the spear in growing the reach of our technologies for new use cases and markets.

Position Responsibilities:

• Facilitate discovery to understand customer’s end to end payments workflow including challenges and needs to derive business and technical requirements

• Facilitate optimization sessions and provide recommendations to enhance customer process and solution

• Provide architectural oversight for complex customer deployment including webhook events and API integrations 

• Identify technical system and infrastructure interdependencies to ensure on-time delivery

• Create and present solution design including end to end workflow to customer and internal groups within Checkr Pay

• Validate delivered solution to ensure its alignment with design

• Develop customer UAT test cases and facilitate UAT

• Serve as technical expert during implementation

• Assist in troubleshooting deployment problems when deep expertise is required

• Triage, debug, and drive mitigation of service-impacting issues

• Team player who will work across the organization working closely with Product Management and Engineering to continue improving the way we serve our customers

• Contribute to the development of Checkr best practices, training material and Checkr internal and external collateral 

• Ability to travel as needed 

What you bring:

• 5+ years of experience in technical consulting roles such as professional services or technical sales engineering, fintech experience a plus!

• Understanding of RESTful API’s

• Relevant experience integrating HCM/ATS with third-party service vendors a plus

• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications, comfortable communicating with audiences of varying levels of management; ability to establish rapport, and gain respect and collaboration

• Experience with continuous integration, agile development, real-time collaboration

• Flexible and able to juggle and complete multiple priorities and projects (internally and externally) in a fast-paced environment

• Interest in working creatively with customers to understand their technical and business requirements and implement solutions, including change management and technical engagement delivery

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion. The salary range for this role is $106,964 to $222,640.
