What you will be doing:

• Work with customers to explain how the technical deployment of Sumo Logic, and its security-focused solutions, will solve the challenges of their business needs. 
• Secure customer confidence in the solution so the Sales team can proceed to secure net new revenue (customer expansion or net new logo acquisition). 
• Help with technical product demonstrations that are cybersecurity focused, and work with customers on Proof of Values (POVs), while receiving guidance from various team members (Sr. Solutions Engineers) as well as Product Management. 
• Build relationships with various parties at customer organizations, from executives down to individual cybersecurity practitioners, DevSecOps specialists, and Site Reliability Engineers, and leverage any existing Sumo Logic connections to further connect with customers. 
• Work cross-functionally with Product Management and Engineering, both on the general Sumo Logic offer, as well as products lines pertaining to cybersecurity, to improve the Sumo Logic service based on experience with customers.
• Telecommuting is permitted.

What we need from you

Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Solutions Engineer, Cybersecurity Engineer, Software Engineer or a related role.  In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience, will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Cybersecurity Engineer, Software Engineer or a related role.  

• Experience with: 

• Networking Layer 7 (HTTP, DNS, FTP, LDAP, DHCP); firewall traffic analysis; 
• Security related products, technologies, and sources such as IDS/IPS, SIEM/Log Management, Network / Endpoint Security, Threat Detection, Incident Response, MSSP/MDR, Threat Feeds, and CASB; 
• Technical infrastructure (servers, networking devices, storage; 
• Modern application architecture (micro-services); and, 
• Kubernetes or Docker.
