Nearmap is a leader in high-resolution aerial imagery, 3D, and AI-powered solutions. We’re looking for a talented Solutions Engineer to join our growing team and work with customers in the insurance and risk management industries. In this role, you’ll help our clients unlock the full potential of Nearmap’s products by providing expert advice and crafting custom solutions tailored to their unique business needs.

What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of transforming how our customers and prospects utilise Nearmap’s Imagery, 3D, and AI technologies. Your role will involve:

• Consult with Customers: Conduct discovery calls to understand customer challenges in insurance and risk management. Help them identify how Nearmap’s solutions can solve problems and deliver value.

• Provide Tailored Solutions: Become a trusted advisor by recommending the right products for clients, utilising Nearmap’s Imagery, 3D, and AI technologies, and offering guidance on APIs, custom applications, and data analytics.

• Support Sales Teams: Collaborate with Account Managers to create customised demos and presentations that speak directly to customer needs, and assist in driving the sales cycle by identifying opportunities for upsell.

• Build Strong Relationships: Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring successful implementation and long-term customer satisfaction.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to ensure solutions are tailored and delivered seamlessly. Provide valuable customer feedback to influence product development.

• Engage with Marketing: Help develop technical content for webinars, trade shows, and other campaigns, positioning Nearmap as the go-to provider in insurance and risk management solutions.

Qualifications

• Industry Experience: You have a background in insurance, underwriting, or risk analytics, with a strong understanding of how these industries operate. Experience in insure-tech is a big plus!

• Problem Solver: You’re adept at analysing customer challenges and thinking creatively about how to solve them with data-driven, technical solutions.

• Stakeholder-Facing Experience: You’ve spent 5+ years in a stakeholder-facing role such as Technical Product Manager, Sales Engineering, or Risk Underwriter, helping businesses use technology to meet their goals.

• Technical Savvy: You’re comfortable working with technical products and APIs. While GIS or Python experience isn’t required, familiarity with cloud technologies, data analytics, and API integrations is a plus.

• Collaborative & Communicative: You thrive in cross-functional teams and are an excellent communicator, able to translate complex technical details into business value for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Creative Thinker: You think outside the box to develop innovative solutions for complex business challenges and are always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.

• Education: A degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline would be an added bonus!
