Senior Specialist, Customer Reference

Summary / Role Purpose
The Senior Marketing Specialist will support Ansys' global strategy for securing customer testimonials/content and for amplifying those assets through public relations and co-marketing activities.
He/She/They will be responsible for project managing and implementing the global strategy for customer references. The hire will foster and promote long-term, mutually beneficial customer and partner relationships; create and maintain in-depth customer profiles and contacts; develop targeted co-marketing, content and public relations plans and assets; and track reference activity and outcomes. The candidate will ensure strategic alignment and advise on which customers to recruit for testimonials, blogs, articles and press releases and social media content; and how/when to use references for company and industry events.
A key factor of this role is the ability to serve and interface with a variety of stakeholders - both internal and external, including C-Level. The role is about finding the right customers for the right situation and holding value-based conversations with account managers and customers to showcase the value of comarketing with Ansys, while also enhancing customer relationships and preventing their burnout from Ansys requests.This role requires an understanding of the ecosystem in which Ansys operates, and its key industries, including high-tech, automotive, aerospace and defense.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Supports the global strategy for and project management of customer engagements, including logos, testimonials, press releases, media interviews, speaking slots at Ansys events, quotes for Ansys marketing assets, IR presentations, 360-degree storytelling, etc.
Further develops and maintains the standard process for approaching customers
Builds strategic relationships and partnerships with customer communications/public relations leaders to facilitate permissions management - keeping the best interests of both Ansys and our customers in mind
Creates and maintains in-depth customer profiles and contacts
Interfaces with members of the sales and engineering teams to identify customer success stories and to build a 360-degree communications plans and narratives that bring value to Ansys and our customers
Maintains a pulse on our customers and their industries to support the sales cycle and Account Managers
Works closely with Ansys' Field Marketing and Product Marketing Teams to support customer engagements at industry and Ansys events (i.e., CES, DAC, Paris Air Show, Hanover Messe)
Increases program adoption and visibility within Ansys by promoting the importance of customer references and their value to the success of the business.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, engineering, business, or related field
- Customer service mindset critical
- Strong project and program management skills
- Highly effective communicator with the ability to work cross functionally, managing simultaneous projects with schedule constraints
- Highly organized; ability to multi-task and prioritize among a wide range of responsibilities
- Proactive individual with an extreme attention to detail
- Sense of urgency
- Collaborative, team-oriented attitude
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- PR agency background strongly preferred
- 5-8 years of relevant experience
- Experience in B2B technology marketing with understanding of current technology market trends
- Skilled in leading and influencing with authority while holding stakeholders accountable
- Capable of constructing workable solutions when presented with multiple points of view
- Strong process management skills and commitment to continuously improving quality and efficiencies of his/her/their own work and that of the team
- Ability to work quickly and decisively, switching from project management tasks to critical thinking to customer engagement
