The Team:
Group Risk Management (GRM) collaborates with businesses as a trusted advisor, facilitating well-informed decisions that support Nasdaq's strategic objectives. GRM manages and continues to enhance the Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Control, Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Corporate Insurance frameworks and programs. These programs facilitate the identification, assessment, monitoring, and treatment and reporting of all types of risks, Nasdaq faces.
Your role and responsibilities
GRM is seeking a Senior Specialist to assist in the development and execution of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise risk, with special emphasis on Risk Assessment, Incident, and Key Indicator programs. The position will report to the Head of Corporate Insurance/Corporate Platforms Risk Officer and will support the implementation of Nasdaq's ERM Framework and Business Continuity Management (BCM) programs within Corporate Platforms. The Corporate Platforms division includes Nasdaq's Listings and Governance, ESG & Investor Relations services businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with ERM team members to implement the ERM Framework and drive a risk-aware culture throughout the organization.
- Assisting in the facilitation of risk assessments and assisting risk and control owners with the identification and assessment of key risks and mitigating controls in their business areas.
- Conducting root cause analyses on identified incidents to recommend improvements.
- Assisting the Corporate Services Risk Officer in preparing reports to management, risk committees and other risk governance forums.
- Aggregating and analyzing ERM Program data to provide actionable information to management.
- Participating as a key user of the integrated GRC platform to ensure the system provides the appropriate level of support and efficiencies for the ERM program.
- Effectively communicating with broader global risk team and partner with peers to ensure consistency of approach and awareness of issues, challenges, and opportunities.
- Pro-actively engage Internal Audit, SOX, Compliance, Information Security, Supplier Risk Management, Business Continuity and other assurance functions to support an integrated approach to risk management.
Corporate Insurance Program - Supporting the strategy and application process for the annual renewal.
- Maintaining the insurance program throughout the year through contract reviews, certificate of insurance requests, invoicing, and other program activities.
- Providing guidance and/or training to the process and control owners on use of Nasdaq's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) database application.
Additional Job Description:
- BA/BS in a related field
- 5-8 years of experience, with a mix of audit, risk and/or technology, and/or consulting roles.
- Prior experience with Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) platforms (e.g. RSA ARCHER, BWise, OpenPages or other) is desirable.
- Experience in the financial services industry (capital markets or financial technology) and/or insurance industry, preferred.
- Previous risk and control design or assessment experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills;
- Strong problem-solving skills, investigative, and analytical skills including ability to effectively address issues in collaboration with others
- Inquisitive nature, resourcefulness, and ability to seek out information
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to portray analytical information in a clear, concise and structured report.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
