About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Global Partnerships, the Senior Specialist will play a key role in building and executing activations with our key sponsorship partners, on both a national and regional level.
Collaborating cross-functionally with external partners and internal teams, including health, marketing, and business leads, the incumbent will manage integrated sponsorship initiatives that drive brand awareness, improve perceptions, engage stakeholders and support business results.
What will you do?
- In conjunction with the Manager, the Senior Specialist is responsible for activating national sponsorship investments. Includes project management, communications and employee engagement, content creation and social media.
- Support day to day administration of the sponsorship budgets and processing of invoices inclusive of liaising with Global Marketing Operations team, Finance department and Accounts Payable.
- Lead the day-to-day management and activation of regional sponsorships.
- Draft reports and presentations for key stakeholders to provide details of proposed activation plans and progress on ongoing campaigns.
- Support research and measurement initiatives to determine the impact of activation programs on the brand and business
- Work with external agencies as required to support sponsorship activations.
- Act as a consultant for internal business groups on how to strategically leverage sponsorships to drive business results
- Manage key partnership deliverables including ticket and hospitality programs
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify partnership opportunities.
What do you need to succeed?
- 3-5 years of experience working in Marketing, Sponsorship and/or Event Management, along with a proven track record of successfully managing and implementing campaigns or events.
- University degree, preferably in business, marketing, sports marketing, and/or event management.
- Strong knowledge of marketing, sponsorship and event principles theories and practices including industry trends, developments, and opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to assess performance and make data-driven decisions within scope
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities to influence positive outcomes with teams and external partners
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined with initiative and drive to succeed in a complex environment
- Proficiency building dynamic presentations using PowerPoint (or similar applications)
Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, process payments with proficient accounting skills would be an asset
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and thoroughness to ensure high quality of work is delivered
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple deliverables within a cross-functional team environment that can include many reporting levels and varying skills/ competencies
- Proven ability to build, support and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
