Senior Specialist-IC Development for BMO Bank N.A. in Chicago, IL to conceive and write detailed software implementations/code while ensuring that the code/configurations adhere to the security, logging, error handling, and performance standards and nonfunctional requirements. Write, configure, and integrate code to create the software that aligns with architecture patterns and technology strategy. Understand the implications of various components to the overall design of a program, system, or eco-system. Evaluate new technologies for fit with the program/system/eco-system and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, risk, and security. Work toward the objective of defect free software. Ensure that systems functionally meet requirements, align with architecture, and promote the development of common assets. Supports the resolution of production issues and problems. Make recommendations to improve internal processes and systems. Act as a thought leader in development, build deeper relationships with key stakeholders, and demonstrate expert-level skills in coding across multiple languages, Lines of Business, and technology areas. Review and approve domain requirements and design. Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor. Network with Industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices. Influence and set corporate direction for software development practice, concepts, technology, and methodology. Manage resources and lead the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals. Act as the prime subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders. Monitor and track performance and address any issues. Ensure code is reviewed, reusable, and testable, meeting architectural-design and customer requirements. Ensure overall code quality. Lead workshops to develop solutions from a program perspective in association with all interdependent systems. Decompose business requirements and translates them into detailed design specifications and code. Interact with key business and technology stakeholders to define, analyze, and deliver requirements that reflect the needs of the business and end-customers. Assess the costs and benefits for different solutions and recommend and decide on appropriate designs. Design solutions, write code, perform unit testing, develop appropriate artifacts and documentation, and facilitate final delivery. Support production issues, including independently completing root-cause analysis and diagnosis. Devise new algorithms and data structures for target environment and platform attributes in alignment with architectural patterns. Build solutions that are supportable, scalable, and achieve our aspiration of common assets. Recommend or automate approaches to streamline and integrate technological processes and systems to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Support the management of specific project deliverables and outcomes. Identify opportunities to strengthen the development capability, such as sharing expertise to promote technical development, mentoring employees, and building communities of practice and networks. Stay abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities, and individual learning. Operate at a group- /enterprise-wide level and serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders. Position allows telecommute benefits.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign education equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field plus seven (7) years of experience developing software in compliance with the Software Development Lifecycle; or, alternatively, a master's degree or foreign education equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and five (5) years of experience developing software in compliance with the Software Development Lifecycle. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section unless otherwise stated): four (4) years of experience in scaled agile development including location independent agile teams; four (4) years of experience in programming languages and tools, such as Java, SQL, SCALA, SPARK, Spring boot, Microservices, Mongo DB; four (4) years of experience in financial regulatory reporting using enterprise data warehouse tools, such as Hadoop, Power BI, Axiom, Captiva, and business and systems analysis; two (2) years of experience as a Systems Analyst in banking or financial sector; two (2) years of experience in system and data analysis of core banking platforms, such as Systematics; experience in any cloud and cloud enabled platforms, such as AWS and OpenShift; and, experience implementing and supporting FDIC370 Rules.

Salary: $150,000/year

Compensation and Benefits:

$110,000.00 - $157,050.00

The base salary represents BMO Financial Group's hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.

Base salary is one component of BMO Financial Group's total compensation package for employees, which may include performance-based incentives, commissions or discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
