Summary:

As a member of the Treasury Services Department, the Senior Specialist will handle the Trade Finance duties of the Finance Division. Initial training will focus on Trade Finance, making certain that our documentary bank settlement, risk mitigation techniques and financing imports and exports, while ensuring corporate and regulatory compliance; additional Trade Finance administration support will also include managing the files, managing operating expenses, and data entry into our ERP/TMS systems. Later, focus will shift to Cash Management & Corporate Finance Administration back-up, such as review processing payments and receipts, daily funding and record keeping of loan.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Record daily transactions of Trade Finance Department, including all documentary bank settlements, risk mitigation techniques and financing of Imports and Exports for all Divisions and those Subsidiaries under NYK Finance control.

• Act as liaison between ITOCHU (III/ITAI) Group Companies and Commercial Banks communicating regularly on all Trade Finance transactions and issues.

• Develop and maintain bank relationships, meeting with representatives of Trade Finance-related banks.

• Analyze and provide guidance to Administrative, Subsidiary and Business Areas on all issues relating to Trade Finance including guidance on structuring transactions or suggesting alternative methods/instruments and meeting internal and external regulations.

• Handling of various TF administrative duties - continually evaluate internal/external systems and processes and propose alternatives for more efficient operations. Prepare month-end analytical and statistical reports.

• Keep abreast of current and relevant developments on internal and external regulations and techniques.

• Oversee all accounting processes as related to the various Trade Finance instruments.

• Handle both III and ITAI LC, back-up ITAI/III Corporate Finance, and Cash Management in their daily operations when necessary.

• Other duties as assigned or as directed by position responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge/Proficiency in the following:

v ICC Rules

v UCP600

v Commercial Letter of Credit

v Documentary Letter of Credit

v Standby Letter of Credit

v Document Examination

• 4-year college degree in Accounting or Finance

• 3 or more years of experience in Trade Finance

• Basic PC skills (Word, Excel) required.

Salary Range - $65K - $70K
