Senior SQL Database Developer - Remote

Precise is looking for a talented Senior SQL Database Developer to join an interesting project related to food safety. 

Applicants must reside in the U.S. in the Eastern and Central time zones.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing database schemas, developing database scripts, performing database deployment duties and post deployment support. 
• Collaborates with team members and business partners in defining, designing, developing and implementing technology solutions to improve business functions.
• Oversee and execute the migration of data from legacy systems to Azure.
• Write database migration scripts to migrate data from multiple legacy databases.
• Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
• Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
• Implement recommendations for improving documentation and database development process standards.
• Actively engage in process improvement initiatives. 
• Adhere to Agile principles and philosophies (Scrum or Kanban, as applicable) in fulfillment of the design role.
• Educate staff members through training and individual support.

Requirements:

• Five to seven years of experience with database design, data integration/aggregation, metadata management, database administration and performance tuning within Microsoft Azure Cloud and SQL databases.
• Experience using and maintaining an SQL Server (the project is using a 2016 SQL Server)
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Excellent understanding of conceptual data models, logical data models, physical data models, domain data objects, domain information models, data architecture, and data schemas 
• Experience developing ETL scripts.
• Database scripting experience
• Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field.
