Job Summary

We are currently seeking a top performing Staff Accountant  with a mission to assist the Finance and Accounting team with key tactical accounting activities and regular reporting to internal and external parties. The top candidate will report directly to our Controller.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your academic and hands-on accounting experience in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

This is a full-time position located in Chicago, with the option of working remotely. Vibes has been recognized in 2023 as a Built In Best Hybrid Places to Work.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable, including annual 1099s
• Manage Accounts Receivable, including monthly billing and invoice follow-up
• Respond to customer inquiries and requests
• Manage Concur T&E system and policies
• Review and approve expense reports
• Monitoring of credit card charges, payment discrepancies, and other charges
• Manage Fixed Assets, including depreciation and amortization
• Manage Carrier Fees, including rates, internal reporting, and accrual
• Manage Short Code billing and reporting
• Manage project/launch services revenue and associated costs
• Assist with month-end close and reporting, including revenue recognition, commissions, balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with annual audit and taxes
• Maintaining accounting documentation and records
• Completion of other special accounting projects as required

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or working towards CPA is a plus
• Minimum of 3-5 years related experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Professional, high-integrity, reliable, organized, drive, and results-oriented
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Superior MS Office skills
• Experience with NetSuite a plus
• Experience with Concur a plus

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 annually, including base salary and any related performance-based bonuses. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills and certifications.
