Senior Staff Accountant - Payroll
Job Description
Assist Accounting Supervisor and management with the general accounting functions including reporting of the financial operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list may not include all of the duties that may be assigned.
- Prepare general accounting journal entries including:
- Inventory
- Payroll
- Long term debt
- Prepaid expenses
- Intercompany
- Allocations
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations for all related accounts.
- Ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner in accordance with the month-end close calendar.
- Prepare various spreadsheets, as needed, for financial analysis and comparisons.
- Assist independent CPA audit firm in their audit and quarterly review of the financial statements.
- Assist in the compilation of the annual budget as well as regular reforecast, specifically related to the revenue areas.
- Participate in system implementations and enhancements & inventory.
- Maintenance of the physician/employee's credit card portal.
- Reviews all payroll line items to ensure correct GL coding. Transitions merged & acquired practices in the system and ensure proper liabilities, deductions, overpayments are followed up on. Review and obtain contract loans and ensure the transactions are reconciled and reflected on the balance sheet.
- Contributes to the accurate reporting of company payroll financials.
- Is the administrator and manages the credit card portal. Troubleshoots and assists managers and clinicians with credit card issues. Issues credit cards to approved management and clinician staff. Acts as the liaison between the credit card company/bank and staff.
- Reconciles all balance sheets related to compensation which includes taxes, payroll, credit card, PTO, bonuses and other financial entries.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Accounting certification (CPA) preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting / finance. Experience in healthcare industry preferred. Experience with accounting and reporting software preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong computer skills to include MS Excel
- Managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas
- Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Non-patient facing
- May be either full time remote/telework or rotate working in the office and remote/telework
- If remote, must be U.S. based
- Professional office environment
- Involves high and frequent call volume
- Data entry for extended period of times
- Will require sitting for long periods of time
