Senior Staff Analyst, Strategic Finance - Remote

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Senior Staff Analyst, Strategic Finance to join the Strategy & Analysis Team! Individual reports to Senior Manager, Strategic Finance. Role is remote; must reside in the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Senior Staff Analyst, Strategic Finance, you get to be part of the “FUN crew” on the Strategic Finance team. As part of this team, you’ll be identifying which products, verticals and services we should be investing our time and moola in. Get ready to flex your analytical muscles by pulling financial themes and analysis. Based on your analysis, you’ll use your noggin to help us solve some of our biggest opportunities in the biz. 

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

Riddle Me This & Model Me That 

You’ll build insightful financial models such as Margin Analysis, Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Pricing, Lifetime Value and Discount/Promo analytics. You’ll serve as the financial guru when working cross-functionally with Sales, Channel Development, Product and Business Intelligence to establish a commercial approach and refine our next steps based on numbers and facts. 

You can intelligently hold your own when speaking about demand elasticity, price elasticity, and impact to churn and LTV during these cross-functional meetings. Your ability to scenario-build and create analyses based on market expansion, product line, and marketing mix models are second to none. 

Report Like the Strategic Boss You Are 

You’re comfortable building reports in SQL and can use Python or Alteryx. Your comfort level at building reports with multiple variables and from different data sources is almost at gangsta level.

Project Management 

You’ve got a Type A personality and write all tasks down and smile when you check them off. You understand how to project manage and have even used one of those fancy project management tools to keep you and the team on track. You understand how important your analysis is in order to make key business decisions with senior leadership. Understanding who the stakeholders are 

and what each person does is just as important. The scope of work ranges from fast-paced ad hoc projects to strategy development and tactical support. 

The Basics 

You can put together a P/L sheet while watching the last season of Game of Thrones (The last season was a bust, but we won’t spoil it for you). You understand the fundamentals of cash flow statements, GAAP standards and can interpret income statements. You understand how revenue works, where expense should be and how depreciation should be calculated.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 4-8 years in fast growth company providing strategic reporting and analysis to senior leadership. 
• Best-in-class Excel and financial modeling skills. SQL, Python, Alteryx, R programming a plus.
• Statistical and economic analysis. Knowledge of wireless operator or SAAS KPIs such as churn, gross adds, ARPU.

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 - $120,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
