Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Staff Architect for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG), you will be responsible to drive the definition and development of End-to-End architectural designs. This role is responsible for taking on some of the most complex end-to-end tech stack design issues and defining the key technologies and implementation detail to reach our Leap Ambitions. You will be responsible for ensuring that the technology stack and family of products and services can scale across products and product specification levels within each of the production systems by providing technical direction and project leadership.
In addition, you will: β’ Provide project leadership by promoting the use of Enterprise technologies from within the tech stack. β’ Develop architecture specifications and trade-off documentation for implementing the common modular architecture strategy. Facilitate necessary cross-functional connections and manages complexity tradeoffs with vehicle, electrical, job automation, data, and digital architects.β’ Align product platforms and ISG teams to the defined architecture for specific products and common technology modules. Recognize gaps and misalignments and propose solutions.β’ Work closely with product development teams as needed to ensure the final combined product has compatible software and electronic hardware, which functions properly together and performs at levels specified in the product requirements. This ensures also the required functionality of vehicles systems that leverage the broader architecture for key operations.β’ Ensure connection between on and off-machine architecture impacts for the Data Platform and Applications support the digital products/services required of the production systems.β’ Ensures that new superior technologies are utilized in products, while also guiding discussions on system and component durability requirements (balancing market risk vs speed to market)β’ Work with Security, PS&C and PV&V to ensure their understanding of machine architecture and to help ensure our solutions meet upcoming requirements and market needsβ’ Connect with research partners and universities to explore new cutting-edge technologies.
What Skills You Need
β’ 8 or more years of technical skill and knowledge in a combination of electrical, software, data, and digital systems engineering and architecture - has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply to complex situations, solve complex problems, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners. β’ 8 or more years of knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice, as well as product knowledge - performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others. β’ 8 or more years understanding of engineering principles as they relate to company products - performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others. β’ Demonstrated job experience experience developing communication materials, both written and oral, and communicating up, down, and across business and technology organizations.

Education Details
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Technology related discipline.
