The Senior Staff Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and scaling a central data science and analysis platform to enable new analytics workflows.

This position is part of the Biochip R&D Team and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design, implement, maintain and continually improve a central cloud platform for data science operations.
• Build scalable, high performance data pipelines (data layer, services, APIs, web applications and database integration) to enable new workflows.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and develop architectural changes to enhance the performance, scalability, and maintainability of our data ecosystem.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to suggest new functionalities or identify areas for improvement.
• Perform code reviews and provide feedback to ensure code quality, readability, and maintainability.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or a similar field with 10+ years of related work experience, OR Master's degree with 8+ years of related work experience.
• Experience deploying commercial, production-grade software platforms, services and applications.
• Hands on experience with cloud (AWS and Azure) and database technologies (SQL server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redshift, etc.).
• Expertise in designing high performing microservice based solutions.
• Understanding of modern automated test frameworks and CI/CD tooling.

The salary range for this role is $150K - $180K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
