The role:

As part of the Galileo Observability team, you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining critical telemetry systems that provide visibility of system health, application performance, and customer experience. Driving standardization and adoption of tooling to improve detection of impact for Galileo systems.Ā 

The role needs experienced engineers with excellent cross-functional and communication skills as well as backgrounds in operations, software development, systems performance and resilience engineering.Ā  Always focusing on the quality experience of our customers.

Ā What you’ll do:Ā 

  • Build the future of the Galileo observability platform with designs treating infrastructure as code
  • Deploy and improve instrumentation for monitoring and logging the health and availability of services
  • Configure and maintain software and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of system availability
  • Develop automation to improve operational efficiencies and system integration
  • Partner with engineering teams in the design of systems and infrastructure
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Participate in deep technical design discussions within your team, and across partner teams, and ensure that we're building the right systems and keeping the quality high.

What you’ll need:

  • 7+ years of experience with system administration/operations and or/software developmentĀ 
  • Ability to serve as a subject matter expert in Splunk and DataDog.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject or relevant experience
  • Strong experience building, analyzing and troubleshooting scalable distributed monitoring platforms(i.e. Splunk, DataDog)
  • Understand and collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership on requirements to transform logs/events into various metrics and visualization
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting applications running on UNIX /Linux based environments.
  • Experience with automation software (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, cfengine, Chef, Ansible)
  • Design and implement technical solutions to satisfy functional and non-functional requirements while ensuring quality, scalability and timely delivery
  • Mentor and train other engineers throughout the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide
  • Demonstrated proficiency writing complex scripts in a standard scripting language (e.g., shell scripts, Go, Ruby, Python)
  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Experience leading cross-organizational efforts with different teams to identify operational challenges and implement solutions
  • Experience operating in the Cloud, preferably in AWS

Nice to have:

  • Expertise building and deploying software using cloud services, Cloud Foundry and AWS platform including VPCs, ECS/EKS, etc.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments such as FinTech
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and technical program management experience

Pay range:Ā $158,400.00 - $242,000.00
Payment frequency:Ā Annual
