What You’ll Do
Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. in San Diego and San Jose is looking for an experienced engineer to join the team responsible to commercialize the world-class Exynos SoC software for next generation mobile and computer platforms.
The ideal candidate should have a clear passion for writing quality code and will be working on the architecture and implementation of software across OS platform and Kernel software stack.
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

- Commercialize Samsung Exynos SoC based software in North American market.
- Develop PCIe and higher-level protocol drivers for next generation mobile and compute platforms.
- Design and develop drivers in the OS driver stack that interact with other chips and peripherals across the PCIe high-speed bus.
- Analyze Field/Equipment feature logs and debugging of PCIe software issues.
- Manage onsite customer support and work to resolve possible escalated customer issues.
- Work closely with geographically dispersed hardware and system development teams to resolve North America customer issues found in lab/field/IOT/carrier test.
What You Bring
- Bachelors with 15+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 13+ years or PhD with 10+ years in Computer Science, Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ with in-depth understanding of OS concepts. Hands on experience in developing latency-critical software.
- Strong understanding of RTOS, ARM architecture, multiprocessor communication mechanism.
- Experience in OS device driver implementations.
- Experience with software integration on new platforms, identify performance bottlenecks in the system and take ownership of the related optimizations.
- Ability to work with cross functional development (HW and SW) and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to diagnose/root-cause issues.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong analytical approach to problem-solving.
- A strong team player, self-motivated and positive attitude.
- Knowledgeable in PCIe protocol driver.
- Experience with PCIe, DMA, and high-speed interfaces is highly valued.
- Ability to read and understand hardware schematics.
