What You’ll Do

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is looking for Modem Vector Processor Designer at all levels. Candidate will be responsible for HW IP development on next generation wireless systems (5G and beyond) and including vector processor architecture/design, FW/Tool-chain development and verification/Implementation of vector processing function for latest 3GPP standards such as New Radio (5G), LTE,  and V2X. Samsung modem chipsets for 2G/3G/4G/5G have been commercialized in millions of smart devices including Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets including the advanced 5G mmWave solutions.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Diego, CA office 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

  • Microarchitecture definition, RTL design and validate the vector processor for modem chipsets which meet upcoming requirements of 5G and beyond use cases.
  • Enable performance metric profiling of vector processor using simulators.
  • FW/Tool-chain development for the vector processor.
  • Strive for the best performance, size and power consumption tradeoff within SOC subsystem.
  • Support to debug pre/post silicon issues and evaluation.
  • Work closely with algorithm, hardware and software engineers to develop an implementation that meets system requirements.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors with 15+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 13+ years or PhD with 10+ years in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Science in chip design industry experience or related field preferred.
  • Experience in vector processor microarchitecture definition and RTL design of cellular systems and other advanced wireless systems.
  • Experience on FW/Tool-chain development to validate vector processor platform.
  • Deeply understanding of signal processing algorithm and associated implementation technique.
  • Experience on debug complex pre/post silicon issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and presentation skills.

The pay range below is for all roles at this level across all US locations and functions. Individual pay rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location, as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training. Base Pay Range
$132,800—$270,000 USD
