Senior Staff Fullstack Engineer, Guest & Host - Pricing Team

Our teams work on everything from driving improvements for the end-to-end Host and Guest experience to launching new product verticals from the ground up. Our job is to build world-class comprehensive platforms and features to create high-quality experiences for our outstanding community of Hosts and Guests.

Our Pricing team focuses on building the platform and tools to help hosts present their listings in the best light with the optimal merchandising and pricing driven by market insights. We partner with key teams across the company such as Search Listings Tax Payments and many others.

The Difference You Will Make:

As a senior technical individual contributor you will partner closely with our senior leaders across the broader technical organization. Although you will be at one of our highest levels of seniority all individual contributors at Airbnb are Software Engineers which means we expect you to be hands-on and contribute code.

A Typical Day:

• Work with design and product partners to understand user journeys and requirements and rapidly prototype / explore  potential solutions to Host problems.

• Work closely with other Senior leaders to define and drive northstar architectures / frameworks and long-term technical strategy that can be leveraged across the broader Guest & Host organization.

• Establish best practices for engineering across the Guest & Host org.

• Implement significant portions of the system and help others in the implementation.

• Understand how key technical decisions will drive business outcomes and deliver frameworks and platforms that improve delivery with high-quality to those outcomes.

• Perform design and code reviews and uplevel other engineers at Airbnb.

Your Expertise:

• 12+ years relevant experience in a fast paced high growth tech environment.

• Experience building leading and architecting full-stack products and systems at enterprise-scale with broad impact.

• Demonstrated technical leadership: hands on experience leading project teams ability to set technical direction and strategy and work cross functionally with Product Design and Data Science teams.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical partners. Ability to influence non-technical partners such as design product managers and the business to develop a unified approach to overall hosting architecture and product/design capabilities.

• Strong prototyping / engineering spiking skills

• Extensive experience with Java Python and or other programming languages. Expertise with frameworks such as GraphQL React Preact Angular Next Vue or Meteor.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed to with your manager.
