We’re looking for a Design System Designer with a strong blend of visual and interaction design skills to support the ongoing design of our B2B product. In this role, you will play a critical part in evolving our design system, into one that is more cohesive, usable and delightful. Working with our multidisciplinary team, you will bring together multiple systems under one new brand look and feel - infusing life, simplicity and character into each and every element. Finally, you will play a key role with our feature team designers, guiding them in how to incorporate design system components and patterns into their work, building excitement, trust and collaboration.Â
- Raise the bar for the overall visual and interaction design of Bill.com products.
- Design and maintain a library of high-quality components, user interface patterns and interaction designs, in a systematic, detail-oriented way.Â
- Set up and maintain clear, concise documentation around the design system components, patterns, principles, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, UX, Product, Engineering, Content, Research and Marketing, to ensure a cohesive design language across the entire customer experience.
- Ensure our design system meets baseline accessibility requirements and is built with WCAG 2.1 in mind.
- Collaborate with teams to understand what they need to build the best user experience for their customers.
- Be a strong advocate both for our internal and end customers.Â
- Rapidly iterate to meet internal customers where they are, with the long term goal in mind.
We’d love to chat if you have:
- At least 12 years of experience in the product design field. Experience working within a product company with mature design systems.
- Strong portfolio that shows a modern sense of design, attention to detail and ideally Design System deliverables (style foundations, components, interaction design, iconography, and prototypes).
- You think about design at scale, and you love to find ways to create efficiency in Figma, and the UI Toolkits that our internal customers use on daily bases.Â
- You consider the end-to-end design. E.g. how any component / pattern would translate across responsive sizes, variations, different pages, mobile etc…
- You are a great collaborator, working as a team player with other design systems and cross-functional team members, as well as internal feature teams.
- You are an excellent communicator (both spoken and written), selling ideas, building understanding of the work you're doing and how it affects other teams.
- You are also able to give excellent feedback / design critique especially how it relates to components / patterns.Â
- You have a growth mindset, always looking to improve, learn and grow.Â
- You have great interpersonal skills. Building great relationships and a genuine desire to empower people for them to be successful.
- You are excited and skilled at working autonomously, bringing ideas, passions etc… to your work. To enable success you also have great time management and organizational skills.
- You either have a passion for or experience in mentoring younger designers - allowing others to learn from your experiences and expertise.Â
- Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and experience building out accessible components based on these guidelines is a bonus.
- Extra bonus if you have one or more of the following skills: icon design, After Effects, front-end code, native mobile.
