Purpose:

We are committed to creating new value through unique water experiences and are seeking to hire the best individual for the R&D Senior Systems Engineer. This role will work with other members of the technical innovation team to develop innovative products and services. Starting with deep consumer and installer understanding, this role must drive the exploration, research, and development of new technologies and capabilities to support the realization of the business vision and strategy. This role has a significant influence on the business's future success. Specifically, this person will:

  • Participate in a culture of continuous learning.

  • Support and develop vital processes to facilitate technical exploration, scouting, and testing.
  • Work with and help seek out partners for internal and external business and strategy leads to ensure the technical capabilities are in alignment to deliver business goals.
  • Maintain curiosity, objectivity, and discipline during the process of development and take responsibility for the quality of the outcome.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and contribute to the Innovation Pipeline including ideation, exploration, and definition. Seek out and maintain relationships with individuals in other development and sustaining areas of the business to ensure consistency and facilitate information transfer.
  • Help create new decision maker solutions through the development of products and systems. Responsibilities include designing and iterating groundbreaking products and services, developing new technologies to enable business opportunities, and working with outside vendors to facilitate efforts. Work with external and internal entities on interpretation of codes and standards and remain up to date on existing internal and external standards. Lead the selection of components, materials and processes that enable solutions.
  • Define and execute plans to implement large scale complicated projects that will often have conflicting requirements and significant undefined parameters. Take on design responsibility for new products and platforms and help disseminate new learnings to the rest of the organization. Work closely with other technicians and engineers to build prototypes, develop specifications, and facilitate technology transfers. Work closely with marketing and brand representatives to interrupt, refine, and improve product specifications to maximum consumer benefit and minimize cost and time to market.
  • Participate and grow external innovation partnerships to augment learning and expedite market tests, including help defining when to build, borrow, or buy new capabilities.

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field
  • 5+ years specific experience in the faucet and/or adjacent industries in a technical capacity. Need to be able to confidently interact with experienced peers and have the background to make informed decisions.
  • Experience with challenging projects and familiarity with product development processes. Must have experience in multiple aspects of design and execution.
  • Experience with computer aided design and analysis tools, Creo preferred.
  • Willingness to stretch into different disciplines, including material science and electromechanical design, and the specification of electronics/firmware design.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with a broad multi-functional teams with diverse skills.
  • Able to support multiple complex projects at one time and prioritize work and resources according to potential impact.

Hiring Range: $98,100.00 - $154,220.00
