As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture and technical strategy of a next-generation payments and credit platform. You will lead initiatives that impact multiple teams, integrating advanced AI capabilities and building scalable, secure systems for financial transactions. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence product quality, performance, and operational excellence while mentoring technical leaders. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment with business objectives and guide the organization in adopting best practices. The role requires hands-on development, problem-solving of complex systems, and strategic decision-making to support global scalability and innovation.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and influence architectural decisions across multiple departments, ensuring scalability, security, and operational excellence
  • Develop features and improvements for payments and credit products that are well-tested, high-performance, and reliable
  • Define and enforce technical standards, best practices, and governance frameworks across the organization
  • Drive innovation, POCs, and adoption of emerging technologies to maintain technical leadership
  • Resolve complex technical challenges affecting multiple teams and business units
  • Mentor Staff Engineers and technical leaders, supporting their growth and development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical strategy with business objectives
  • Represent the organization in public forums and technical communications, promoting technical excellence
  • Requirements:

    • 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Staff Engineer, including at least 2 years in a leadership role (Engineering Manager or Staff+)
    • Strong professional experience with C# or relevant programming languages
    • Expertise in automated testing frameworks (MSTest, JUnit, NUnit, XUnit, Specflow, etc.)
    • Solid understanding of web and browser concepts, distributed systems, and performance optimization
    • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), and Kubernetes
    • Proven track record leading technical strategy and architecture across multiple teams
    • Strong knowledge of design principles (SOLID, Clean Code, DRY, Twelve-Factor) and development methodologies (TDD, Pair Programming, Code Review)
    • Experience mentoring technical leaders and influencing organizational decisions
    • Proficiency in Portuguese and English, both written and verbal
    • Preferred: experience in enterprise financial systems, multi-region architectures, observability stacks, and security practices
