About the Role

The Provider group is embarking on a critical phase of growth and technical modernization. To guide this evolution we are hiring a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to serve as the overarching Technical Individual Contributor Leader for the entire Provider organization. This role requires a unique combination of deep technical expertise architectural foresight and cross-functional leadership. Operating as a strategic partner to the Senior Director the incumbent will be responsible for setting the technical roadmap establishing engineering standards and driving high-impact initiatives that span all teams within the Provider domain.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related professional experience. Specifically full-stack experience building modern database-backed (SQL/NoSQL) web applications and experience with microservice development

  • Proven Technical Leadership: Extensive experience operating as a principal or lead architect for a major product domain or engineering group. With the knowledge and hands-on experience driving all phases of the development lifecycle: planning specing execution and measuring success post-launch maintenance

  • Distributed Systems Expertise: Deep knowledge of building high-throughput low-latency distributed systems microservices architecture and cloud infrastructure. Experience working on highly complex projects with a focus on achieving sustainable results

  • Influence Without Authority: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence engineering direction and product strategy across multiple stakeholders. Working with cross-functional teams to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical groups

  • Experience mentoring others reviewing architectures and establishing design patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.

  • Domain Knowledge: Background in provider ecosystems healthcare data standards (e.g. FHIR HL7) or complex B2B integration networks is highly desirable but not mandatory.

  • Start-up experience

  • Experience developing SaaS applications using the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform

  • Previous experience in products with high reliability/accuracy requirements (finance mission-critical systems etc.)

  • Experience with “on-call” ability to deep dive complex issues and drive them to resolution independently

  • Experience with NodeJs Typescript Kafka
