Senior Staff Software Engineer

Q2 is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer who will be integral to a small, top-talent team tasked with contributing to a growing business in a space that is begging for innovation. You will help plan, design, develop, test, and debug, highly available/scalable applications and services. Our API and Back-end Systems are built using .NET and .NET Core. We are looking for a back-end developer that has exceptional back-end development skills. This is an individual contributor role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adhere fanatically to lean software development and continuous delivery methodologies
• Research, architect, and build sub-systems that successfully integrate with new and existing platforms
• Dissolve complex requirements into meaningful, manageable units of work
• Thrive on a small team of highly skilled, motivated peers
• Apply advanced design patterns and technologies when appropriate without over-engineering solutions
• Proficient in writing scalable/performant SQL
• Write clean/maintainable/testable code using single responsibility principals
• Own the responsibility of developing high quality software with the right balance of unit tests
• Communicate and document efforts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Refactor existing SQL stored procedures into unit testable C# code

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

• Typically requires a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant work experience
• 12+ years of experience with C# and .NET
• 12+ years of experience with SQL
• 6+ years of experience consuming/creating JSON-based, RESTful APIs
• Experience with test automation frameworks and auto-mocking tooling
• Qualifications that make you stand out over others:
• Domain knowledge and experience in the banking/fintech industry
• Experience designing and developing highly scalable/enterprise-grade systems
