Senior Staff Software Engineer

The Performance team focuses on developing solutions to manage professional growth and feedback. The team is responsible for developing products enabling employees, managers, and admins to participate in regular feedback processes in all directions, calibrations, and professional development plans.

• How might we make performance reviews less stressful and less surprising?
• As Lattice grows, how do we build a performance platform that will scale with the business?
• How do we strategically decouple the performance products from Lattice’s broader platform to better suit our technology needs?

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve the maintainability, scalability, and reliability of business-critical systems.
• Influence and drive alignment in large scale projects, directly impacting business outcomes.
• Drive impact - through communication, mentorship, planning, execution, implementation, and outcomes.

You have 9+ years of professional experience writing and maintaining production-level applications.

• You’ve worked with a modern programming language like JavaScript, Ruby, Python, etc.
• You’ve got good database and data modeling experience. You know how to efficiently model moderately complicated data, write and optimize performant queries in a relational database like PostgreSQL, and are comfortable mentoring junior engineers on best practices around this.
• You know the ins-and-outs of maintaining and scaling an application actively serving customers in production.
• You seek out the root cause when debugging software defects and champion improvements that prevent future issues.

• You’re clear and concise in explaining your thought process and in enumerating the tradeoffs made in your work.
• You work well with designers and product managers to develop optimal solutions.

• You have experience taking the lead in planning and executing the development roadmap for software projects.
